Hi all!
My name is Chiara, and I am a bookworm.
I’m back again to do Top 5 Wednesday. I enjoyed it so much last week that I’m doing it again. Just a bit of history behind the meme before I dive right in. Top 5 Wednesdays is group on good reads currently hosted by Samantha from thoughts on tomes. For more information head to the Goodreads page.
Now back to the business at hand. The topic this week gave us a lot of freedom to choose what we wanted to talk about. I think the topic wording was something along the lines of ‘Favourite books featuring (a paranormal creature of your choice)’. Well, to begin with I made a list of paranormal creatures. I had to choose a creature that had five books to talk about. I came up with vampires, werewolves and witches and then got a bit stumped. They all seemed very obvious. At that point I looked up a definition of paranormal creatures but that was not very helpful and left things open to interpretation. Soon things like necromancer and ghosts appeared on the list along with dwarves, elves, trolls, ghouls, orcs (the last three I was planning to group together in one topic), demons, fairies, dragons, goblins, centaurs and angels.
Next came the narrowing and further listing and a consultation to my personal Font-of-Most-Knowledge until I got it down to this list.
I’ll start, as I did last week, with number 5 and work my way down to 1.
Number 5
Rupert The Bear by
Number 4
Magnus Chase by Rick Riordan
Hearthstone is amazing and makes the Magnus Chase stories just that little bit more special.
Number 3
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
I was trying to decided between the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, but the hobbit has the elves of Mirkwood and I though they were better being tricksters and all.
Number 2
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
The amazingness which is Holly Short.
And finally, number 1
Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets by J.K. Rowling
I’m sure you’re now wracking your brain to think what elf in Harry Potter but how on earth could you forget the cuteness that is Dobby?
I love Magnus Chase series.I totally forgot that Hearthstone is an elf!

I love elves! I haven’t read any LOTR books, but I love them in the movie (yes, especially Thranduil). I love The Iron Fey, have you read the series? Holly Black’s portrayal of elves are interesting to read too!
