Hi all!
My name is Chiara and I am a bookworm.
I’m back with top 5 Wednesday and this week’s topic is longest books on my TBR list.
But first some general housekeeping. Top 5 Wednesday is a Goodreads group created Lainey and currently hosted by Samantha. Find out more here!
So longest books. When I read the prompt yesterday I was a bit flustered. The first thought that came to mind was that I don’t read many long books. In general most of my books are about 350 – 400 pages long and that really doesn’t sound all that impressive. So I dug deer and came up with a small list of seven books, the longest of which I have listed here for your viewing pleasure…
Number 5: Mythos by Stephen Fry.
Number of pages: 416
A page turner by Stephen Fry. I started reading this while I was living in Paris last year but I never got to finish it so it went back to my TBR pile.
Number 4: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.
Number of pages: 509
My dad brought me this when the film came out during my teens but I never got into it. Someday I’ll read it, but when that ‘someday’ will be … I just don’t know.
Number 3: Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
Number of pages: 552
My brother bought me this book their last year for Christmas. It’s is slowly making its way up the pile, providing I don’t add too many on top of it.
Number 2: Shadow Of Night by Deborah Harkness
Number of pages: 584
I don’t even own a copy yet of Shadow of Night, it is also on my ‘To Be Bought’ list. After reading A Discovery Of Witch, a review of which will be posted tomorrow, I immediately added this to my TBR pile.
Number 1: A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.
Number of pages: 848
If you’ve not read this series I’m sure it’ll be number one longest book in your TBR pile. It is massive. 848 is not something you undertake lightly. I only got into the tv series in the last 6 months just before it was take off now tv, yet again. I bought the whole series, boxed, in an attempt to replace it but I need some series time to read that.
My honourable mentions go to Heroes by Stephen Fry and Nemesis by Brendan Riechs.
That is all I have time for today.
Once again, my name is Chiara and I am a bookworm.
Great List! Shadow of the Night is a great book (and you might as well add the 3rd of the series to your TBR)…

[…] So… books I want to read before 2019. I’ve not put on the book I’m currently reading, or any books from last week’s T5W because you already know what they are, but if you don’t happen to have read last week’s T5W check it out here. […]
