Sunday Quote: Victor Hugo

Hi all!

My name is Chiara and I am a Bookworm.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, wherever you are in the world.

This Sunday I though I would share with you a quote from Les Misérables by Victor Hugo. I haven’t read this book … yet, but I do love the show and it is on my TBR list. The book I so long that it is actually 2 books.

However, without further ado …

The darkest nights will end and the sun will rise.

-Victor Hugo

  1. I am a bookworm too. I actually have read the unabridged Les Misérables- it was my love for the musical that led me to even read the book

    1. I have the complete Les Misérables on my shelf waiting to be read, but I think I’m going to really have to put some serious time into it. It was the musical as well that made me buy it.

      1. I actually read it in one summer-in less than three full months. Had to- was still in university at the time. So had to finish it before Fall Semester started up. If I reread it, I think I will read it at a slower pace.

I actually am obsessed with Les Mis.

      2. I am obsessed with Les Mis. I think it is fantastic. I saw it live in London about 8 years ago with Ramon Karimloo playing Jean Valjean

      3. I saw it live five times.

2013- central piedmont community college (3x). Once with family and twice as an usher. November 15th, 17th, and 24th.

2015- London. date with my mom with an understudy as Jean Valjean. July 30th.

2017- US Tour with understudy as Eponine. November 5th. This time with my university.

      4. It really was a timing thing. I became a true fan of Les Mis in 2013.

It just so happened that year that my community college was doing a production of Les Mis. That was why 2013 happened.

2015- it just so happened that the adult choir at my family church was in residence at Bristol Cathedral. A pilgrimage was built around that. My family went up two days early- that was when Les Mis happened in London.

2017- it just so happened that the US Tour was launched that year.

      5. I wish Les Mis toured in the UK.
It doesn’t tour very often because of the tuning stage. It’s difficult to get into most theatres, the size and the mechanics, so my only option is to watch it in London. But the cost …
I really want to go and see it again!

      6. This year- I can actually see the stage show yet again- the US Tour is coming back to Charlotte (my hometown). Hoping that will happen.

Blumenthal has a strong season coming up. Les Mis is the first musical of the 2019-2020 season.
