New Year Announcements

Hi all my Bookworms!

How are you all?

I hope you are all having a good year.

It’s time for a few general housekeeping’s and I have an announcement for you all. Hopefully I can save it as a surprise till the end of this … so keep reading, all of you.

First of all: reading goals…

Last year I gave myself a target of 52 books. Let me tell you … this didn’t happen. I’m not sure exactly how many that I read last year but I would say about 30 (I haven’t got my list in front of me).

Part of that was work, part of that was my own mental health. This year is going to be a lot different (I’m telling myself that now!) and reading isn’t going to end up being a priority for me right this moment. I want to read and I want to share all of that with you. I’m just going to have the access to books as I usually would.

Long story short, my reading goal for 2020 (it’s still so strange writing that) is … 30 books. My goal is to meet last years target … and hopefully beat it.

Second of all: plans.

In my head a lot of ideas are floating round in there are hoping for release. Some of them are well formed ideas and actually have form and have been written down on paper. I’ve done research on them into their practicality and all sorts.

I hope they all come into reality … or the practical ones at least.

A hint of my plans are …

  • Rick Riordan book reviews in their entirety… all his mythological books … I want to review them all.
  • Pride and prejudice re-tellings. (I shan’t say any more than that)
  • Finish my book, my WIP, my novel. I want to give you guys regular updates on how my book is going, and hopefully telling you about it all will keep me writing.

And finally … my announcement.

I’m not sure whether I have mentioned it on here before (I probably have) but I used be an au pair in Paris. (That’s sort of a nanny for those of you who don’t know) I lived out there for ten moths and it is my favourite city in the world.

And I’m going back. The first half of this year is going to be in Paris.

Can you believe it?!

The family used to work for sent me a message on New Year’s Eve. They had been looking for an au pair for the next six months and hadn’t been able to find anyone. They wondered if I was available to come and work for them.

My gosh, when I got that message I was just getting dressed for my cousin’s New Years party and I immediately felt a weight lift off my shoulders.

Of course I was going. My flights have already been booked and I’m off as soon as work would allow.

Six months in Paris.

I still want to scream!

I’m so excited.

I don’t have a huge amount of time to pack and get organised and I hope that I’ll be able to do some posting in between it all.

But once I’m there expect regular Paris updates and lots of photos.

That’s all from me today. I hope your New Year has got off to as good a start as mine.

See you soon and happy reading
