Hi all my bookworms!
How are you all?
My name is Chiara and I am a Bookworm.
This week’s tag I found over at Mitah reads. The tag looked like such fun that I wanted to have a go. The creator is The Book Jazz but I have been unable to find their blog/YouTube channel so if any of you know who it is and send me a link, I would much appreciate it.
I also want to ask, before you get buried in reading my answers, any bloggers reading this can you please link, tag, send, me your favourite tag to have a go at. It would be much appreciated.
But down to the questions …
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
The library.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I have a very nice bookmark that my best friend gave me for Christmas and for the most partI have been using that … but usually I use receipts, postcards, whatever random piece of paper I have to hand. If I don’t have anything to hand, I may even dog ear the book!
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
I will stop in the middle of a sentence if I need to put a book down. But I always try to read fifty pages when I read. This is a double edged sword in that sometimes if I don’t think I have time to read fifty pages then I won’t pick up the book.
Do you eat or drink while reading?
I usually have a drink to hand most of the day because I get thirsty a lot but I don’t sit down with a special drink and snacks when I’m reading.
One book at a time or several at once?
I think anyone who has seen my WWW Wednesdays over the past weeks will know that I have habit of reading too many books at the same time and I am finally getting it under control. Normally at most three books.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Wherever there is something to read, I will read, even if it’s the back of a cereal box. Obviously I would prefer to read a book … but …
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently in you head. Who even does it the other way? The only time I read something out loud is when I can’t get the words to flow right in my head and I need to hear them, but that doesn’t happen very often.
Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
Skip pages? You miss out on the story. But unfortunately I have a bad habit of reading the last paragraph of the book. I am trying to break this habit. Honest.
Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
Break the spine. Books are made to be read. Keeping them in pristine condition does nothing for me. A book with a broken spine means that it has been well read, and well loved.
Do you write in books?
No. That one is a big no-no.
When do you find yourself reading?
All the time? Usually in an afternoon or evening when I have less to do.
What is your favourite setting to read?
I like to read in big comfy chairs that seem to hug you, somewhere warm, but not hot, with a blanket near by just in case. I like a drink in case I get a dry throat and if at all possible a window with a good view to gaze out of when I’m daydreaming about my characters instead of reading.
What do you do first – read or watch?
As much as possible, read. Both ways ruins the pleasure of the other and I do love books so much.
What form do you prefer? Audiobook, e-book or physical?
Someday I’m not sure I have a preference. When I’m travelling, e-books because I can bring more of them, but when I’m home, physical because then I can see them all lined up on my shelves.
