Booktag Friday: The Cake Tag

Hi all my Bookworms!

My name is Chiara and I am a Bookworm.

How are you all?

It’s Friday!

It’s the weekend tomorrow.  I know in our current climate it doesn’t mean much, but I do try to stick to a routine in lockdown and that does mean taking two days away from the computer, away from my blog, to enjoy myself.  I go for walks.  I cook.  I bake.  I read.  I do a lot of my reading at the weekend.  I’ve actually been doing a lot of reading during the week as well but that’s another matter.

As well as it being Friday, it’s time for me to do another booktag I haven’t been tagged in.

This one I found on The Book Dutchesses and I think it fits with all the baking that has been going on in my household.

Flour:

A book that was a little slow to start but really picked up as it went along

Throne of Glass by Sarah J MaasThrone of Glass

I love SJM’s work I really do.  The series is a work of art but that first book in the series was such slow going.  Some days I am amazed that I managed to get through it.

Butter:

A book that had a rich, great plot

The Hobbit by J.R.R. TolkienThe Hobbit

I thought of many books that could fit this prompt, but I always came back to this book.

Goodreads

Eggs:

A book that you thought was going to be bad but actually turned out quite enjoyable

I’m not sure what to say for this.  I don’t go into reading a book thinking it will be bad.  I try not to have pre-conceived ideas about books.  It tends to influence the way that I read the book.

I’m going to slightly change the prompt to say a book that wasn’t what I expected, which makes answering this a lot easier.

Darling by Gabrielle G. DarlingGoodreads

Sugar:

A sugary, sweet book

Can my answer be any romance?

No?

Okay … Then I choose The Billionaire Falls by Melody Anne The Billionaire FallsGoodreads | Review

It wasn’t the first book I read of Melody Anne but it is the book I go back to most often and I find it even sweeter because the guy doesn’t fight what is happening.  He is sweet and romantic and … and a lot of things.

My alternative would be Unexpected Treasure (Lost Andersons #1) by Melody Anne Unexpected TreasureGoodreads

The way that Crew treats Haley is the way that all partners should treat each other.

Icing:

A book that covered every single element that you enjoy about a book (funny moments, action moments, sad moments, etc)

Artemis Fowl by Eoin ColferArtemis FowlYou could pick any book in the Artemis Fowl series and it would be funny, there would be action, there are sad moments, there are happy moments.  There are everything that you could want from a book.

Goodreads

Sprinkles:

A book series that you can turn back to for a little pick me up when you’re feeling down

My pick me is usually Stage Dive.  I love the entire series and I know I can turn to it for a easy relaxing read.

Cherry on top:

Your favourite book this year so far.

That one is easy.  I have scored a few  5⭐ reads so far this year but even out of all of them I have a favourite.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo Six of CrowsGoodreads | Review

And I tag …

YOU!

If you want to have a go at this tag feel free.

Stay home. Stay safe.

And, until next time, happy reading.
