Film Review: Kissing Booth 2: Going the Distance

Hi all my Bookworms!

My name is Chiara and I am a Bookworm.

How are you all?

First of all, we need to talk about Kissing Booth 2. Have you seen the film on Netflix yet? I have and I think I may have found a film that I loved more than the book.

I can’t believe I just wrote that but it may be true.

I don’t normally review films, so you’ll just have to hang with me here.

My Thoughts

I love the progression of the characters.

Elle is still her clumsy adorable cute self, and Lee is his usual dorky self, though he seems to have gained a few muscles since we last saw him. Noah is amazing and in Boston going to university at Harvard … and that is pretty much where we left our three main characters at the end of the first film.

Almost all of our side characters from last time are back and I am loving all the side romances. Even the kissing booth makes a reappearance and it seemed to work it’s magic once again, bringing old and new couples back together.

I also love our new guy, Marco. I remember him from the book being nicer, sweeter, and a bit less self confident. I also remember meeting his little sister, which is barely even mentioned in the book. I wish he and Elle had spent more time together in less of a ‘falling in love montage’ kind of way.

On the plus side, Elle and Noah are very cute together, when they are together.

I think my favourite bit might be the dance competition. It wasn’t in the book, but I love how much effort Elle put in to the competition and in the end it was really cool, despite the ending to it.

Elle and Lee’s senior year was very interesting and this film was so wroth watching, however I think that Netflix has left it at such a cliff hanger that there really could be another film in the works in the near future.
