Bookworm NOT in Paris: Reading, Busy Work and My Health

Hi all!

My name is Chiara and I am a Bookworm.

It feels like ages since I last wrote one of these but in realty it was only two weeks ago.

A lot has been happening in these past few weeks … which has included a lot more reading than the first few weeks of the month. I am trying to pick my reading back up but work is really draining me.

Did anyone else think it would be so hard to go back to work? I want people to put in the comments about whether you’re back at work and what it’s been like for you.

For me, working in food, this has been so busy, especially on a Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. We have had people queuing out the door to eat in. One those days we are run off our feet and we can’t get enough staff in the store to cope, especially and keep everyone social distancing. I am glad that today in the last day of the Eat in to Help Out offer.

And I hope that September is quieter.

In terms of the rest of my life, every couple of days at the moment I seem to have a new medical complaint. Early last week it was an infected toe (absolutely disgusting!) then a few days later I had a problem with my jaw, which really worried me because I have a hypermobile jaw, which basically means that my jaw opens wider than it should, and it also has a tendency to dislocate meaning several hours in A&E. It turns out I just stretched the ligaments and I now have daily exercises for my jaw. And then, as I said in yesterday’s post, I got sent home ill from work.

I have this week off, I booked a holiday, even though I am not going anywhere I am going to relax, take care of myself and hopefully have a better week when I go back to work.

I am looking forward to a few days out this week and hopefully I’ll have a few pictures for you when I do this next week and some funny stories.

I’ll leave this here, a very short update.

Until next time, happy reading!
