Hi all!
My name is Chiara and I am a Bookworm.
Books written before I was born. What an interesting topic?! And a chance to dive through my shelf of classic, the majority of which I have never read.
But before I dive let me remind you once more what Top Ten Tuesdays is all about. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme that is going ten years strong that was originally created by The Broke and The Bookish in 2010 and switched to That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018. Each week we have a different topic.
Because I have read so few of these books, you can consider them TBR long term reisdents.

Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome

Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carol

Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

The Adventures of Sherlock Holme by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

Jeeves and Wooster by P.G. Wodehouse

(Currently reading the Inimitable Jeeves)
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

(Did you think I would get through this list without mentioning my favourite book?)
Inspector Morse by Colin Dexter

What books are on your TBR from before you were born? Any I should be adding to my own?
Until next time …
HAPPY READING!
I’ve always wanted to read Rudyard Kipling for some reason. I imagine the PEter Pan original story is interesting, and Austen is another author I’d like to read.

The only Austen I’ve read is Pride and Prejudice but I keep reading it and her other works occasionally sneak into my tbr. I think Peter Pan will be amazing (when I finally get to read it). Let’s see how much Disney changed!

I love the Emma Thompson Sense and Sensibility film so I have a feeling I should give that one a go!

Not watched that one, personally. Though I do love the bbc adaptation of Emma with Johnny Lee Miller. That may have to be first on my list.

Great post Chiara, I have a lot of these books on my TBR as well!

I think they’ll be on a lot of people’s tbrs. They’re the books we know we should read, but never do.

I’m sure they will! And they definitely are ahaha!

Great list! I need to give the Jeeves and Wooster books a try–my dad’s always recommending those books to me–and I love Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I had to read Peter Pan at uni and remember finding it quite creepy – there’s something sinister about a bunch of grown men calling a little girl ‘mother’!

I want to reread Jane Eyre at some point, see if it holds up to my impressions some 7=+-8 years ago? At the same time, I have so many new books I want to read as well so we’ll see. Happy reading! 😀 My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/books-written-before-i-was-born-the-classics-edition/

I couldn’t finish either Jane Eyre or Little Women, I got bored reading them (though I did enjoy the Little Women movie that came out in 2019). I did enjoy Alice In Wonderland when I was a kid though.

Glad to see that I’m not the only one who struggled with previous attempts

I’ve read/listened to nearly all of these. I am in the minority of not liking Alice. I love Peter Pan and several others. Just grab one sometime! I have several of these long-term tenants on my TBR, too, such as The Bostonians. I need to take my own advice, lol.

I keep saying I’m just going to grab one, but there’s always other books

Hmm let me think…Dracula is on my TBR and definitely published before I was born, hahaha! Swallows and Amazons is on my TBR too.

I loved this weeks TTT prompt. There were just so many amazing books released before I was born! Great list! The only one I’ve actually read from yours is Alice in Wonderland!
