Monthly Wrap Up: February 2021 … PLUS March Mini TBR

Hi all!

My name is Chiara and I am a Bookworm.

I hope you all have had a good month.

February was quite an interesting month for me. I went from having a really good month with my asthma all through January to a really bad one. I’ve come home early from work twice and then had to have extra sick days. The first time I came home was completely blameless. It was a busy day with no staff in the morning and I worked myself hard. We set up the store well, and the team was really working well together, the few of us that there were, and we were meeting all our goals, but it was a hard day. When we finally got staff, it wasn’t much better, no there was too much staff and no one to organise them. By eleven o’clock I could barely get off the floor and I was reasonably adamant that I wasn’t going home early. I’m being slightly dramatic when I say I couldn’t get off the floor. I didn’t collapse or anything. I knelt down to grab some trays off the bottom shelf but I could barely do the job I’d got down there to do. My managers gave me a minute and some water and I tried to get better. Something made harder when everyone wants to talk to you. I suddenly became an agony aunt and everyone told me their problems while I struggled to string a sentence together.

The second time I want to blame the person the sprayed perfume in the toilets. It’s one of the things that trigger my asthma really bad. They’ve been told at work no sprays in the building but some of my colleagues must have brains like a sieve because they keep forgetting. That took me off work for two days.

I am promising myself that March will be better.

It terms of books I read seven last month. Two audiobooks, one paperback and four e-books, making a total of 1493 pages read and seven hours and thirty five minutes listened.

Both of the audiobooks were audible originals which I am really getting into. For the most part they are wrote for audiobook and they bring such a different side to the book. I can’t wait to get into the reviews of the books I’ve read so far and to find even more to listen to this month.

But let me tell you exactly I’ve read and what reviews you can expect from me this month.

Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet Vol 1 by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

Call Me Maybe by Cara Bastone

The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert

I am heavily debating whether to leave a TBR in this post. I don’t normally do TBRs because I find them a sure fire way to get me into a reading slump. But I do have a few books that are quite near the top of my reading list at the moment. They are:

Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer

The Set Up by Falguni Kothari

You and Me on Vacation by Emily Henry

Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

The Secret Bridesmaid by Katy Birchall
