Booktag Friday: Midyear Freak Out Tag

Hi all my Bookworms!

My name is Chiara and I am a Bookworm.

How are you all?

I know that I am a couple of weeks late doing the mid-year freak out tag. Some people did this back in mid-june. So I know that I am late, but I want to do this anyway.

And, will you believe it, I was actually tagged in this by Nikki @ Nikki Swift reads

But, without further ado, let’s dig in.

How much have you read?

Back in January I set my Goodreads Goal as 30 books. I didn’t want to set myself too big a target and not be able to achieve it when I hit a three month long slump like I did last year, so I went low. I am glad to say that I have, so far this year read 35 books! Go me!

Best book you’ve read so far in 2020?

There is no doubt what my favourite read has been this year. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I can’t believe that I haven’t read this before. I’ve said that a hundred times before. But it was an amazing read and I will be reading more Bardugo books.

Most anticipated release for the second part of the year?

I did a whole post dedicated to this just last week. I honestly could list another 10 here but I won’t I’ll just leave it with the books that I put on there.

Biggest disappointment?

There is one answer to that. Kissing Booth 2: Going the Distance by Beth Reekles.

Biggest surprise?

Biggest surprise. Sometimes I wish that these questions were clearer. But I suppose it’s open to my own interpretation. A book that was the biggest surprise to me was Five Feet Apart by Rachel Lippincott, Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. I don’t think I expected to like it as much as I did.

New favourite author (debut, or new to you)?

So many new favourites, but I definitely think that Leigh Bardugo deserves that crown.

Underrated gems you’ve discovered recently?

I’m not sure that you would call it underrated because it is really popular, but it is a gem.

The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary

Newest fictional crush?

There are many fictional crushes but none of which I am going to list here.

Newest favourite character?

Bryson Keller. He is definitely my favourite character. I think the guy is gorgeous, and he is sooooooo sweet in the books.

Book that made you cry?

I seem to be tearing up at a lot of books lately. I’m not normally a crier, but I’ve been tearing up … a lot. But I’m going to put Date Me, Bryson Keller by Kevin van Whye because it really struck a chord with me.

  1. Yes! Six of Crows is great, I NEED to read Crooked Kingdom now! Felix Ever After is also on my TBR! And I absolutely HAVE TO read The Trials of Apollo (because I love Apollo) but first I need to finish the Percy Jackson series and The Heroes of Olympus (so yeah it will be a long ride before I can finally read The Trials of Apollo)
